As of August 29, 2011 our previous Rector, Fr. Clyde Elledge, has moved onto his new calling as the Rector at Church of St. Andrew’s in Marblehead, Massachusetts. Our parish family is looking forward optimistically to the exciting process of calling a new rector! We have a vital, strong, welcoming community. We are not receiving names at this time. News and details will be posted here as it becomes available. Please check back often and bear with us as this type of change does not happen rapidly

A Prayer for a New Rector

 

As our parish searches for a new Rector, you are asked to say the following prayer on a daily basis: Almighty God, giver of every good gift: Look graciously on your Church, and so guide the minds of those who shall choose a new rector for this parish, that we may receive a faithful pastor who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (The Book of Common Prayer, p. 818)

 

Reverend Jane Schaefer, Interim Rector

It is with great pleasure that we announce that The Reverend Jane Schaefer will serve as our Interim Rector. We are thrilled and feel quite blessed to have her with us as we continue in our search process. Rev. Schaefer has stepped out of retirement to fill this position. She has vast experience with sizeable parishes within our Diocese.

 

After reviewing several resumes and conducting interviews, we felt Rev. Schaefer was the best candidate for this important time of transition. She brings a warm and caring presence along with a passion for spiritual guidance and pastoral care. These strengths will benefit Annunciation as we continue to develop our Worship, Education, Outreach and Fellowship ministries. As interim Rector, Rev. Schaefer will be fulfilling all of the responsibilities of a permanent Rector.

 

Ronald Lemke, Organist-Choirmaster

Ron has been the organist and choirmaster at the Annunciation of Our Lady for many years. His talent and long experience in this area of the county has put him in touch with many vocalists and instrumentalists upon whom he calls to enhance our Sunday and holiday worship when needed.

 

Many of the vocalists from our church and other churches come together to present Theodore DuBois's Seven Last Words of Christ as a community project during Lent. At the end of October 2000 these same vocalists and other musicians gathered for a concert in thanksgiving for Ron's fifty years of music ministry.
