We have a number of groups that are started and maintained by parishioners who share a special interest. These include:

Book Group

This group meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 6:00 at Panera Bread in Gurnee. We take turns choosing books and leading discussions. All women of the parish are invited to join. Look in the bulletin to learn the latest book selection.

Film Discussion Group

This group meets monthly during the summer to view a film and then learn about its history and discuss any issues raised by the film's story. Michael Chatlien, a screenwriter and filmmaker, leads the discussion. Watch the bulletin and monthly newsletter for announcements about upcoming films.

Knitting Group

This group meets at the church on the fourth Wednesday of the month to have fellowship and work on knitting projects. Some members are creating prayer shawls to give away, while others are working on their own projects. In addition, members are willing to assist beginners in learning how to knit.

Writers Group

The purpose of this group is to help members to meet their own goals for themselves as writers, whatever those might be. Members submit pieces of writing for the group to read and critique. Critiques are done in a respectful and constructive manner. Readers prepare their responses ahead of time and make an effort to point out positive qualities in the writing as well as areas that need improvement. The group is open to all genres of writing and writers with all levels of experience. New members are welcome. Generally, the group meets the last Saturday of the month.

Episcopal Gastronomic Outing (EGO)

This group meets approximately once each month for fellowship, food, and fun. Approximately one Saturday each month, someone chooses a restaurant, and those who wish to participate gather at the designated time and place. Pure fun.
