Our parish is full of life!! Events for the year are chosen, planned, and carried out by interested parishioners. The list below shows the variety of events that have been held in the past.
· Mardi Gras is a pre-Lent family feast of Cajun-style cooking with plenty of desserts. Children can participate in fun activities.
· Easter Vigil reception features hors doeuvres and champagne, as well as non-alcoholic alternatives. The gathering follows the 11:00 PM mass on Holy Saturday.
· Easter Day activities focus on making Easter Sunday special for the children of the parish and visitors.
· Patronal Feast is a service honoring the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary, our patron saint, and is followed by potluck dinner. It takes place on the Sunday closest to the Feast of the Annunciation, which is usually March 25 but is sometimes moved because of Easter.
· Open House for New Members is a twice-yearly reception that occurs in the spring and the fall to help newcomers meet parishioners in a casual setting.
· Garden Walk is a late spring event in which several parish members open their gardens up for a tour, ending in a tea at the last house.
· Golf Outing mixes players of all abilities, and laughter is par for the course.
· Ravinia Night provides an evening of music under the stars and a picnic on the lawn.
· Church Picnic brings families together as the school year begins. An outdoor mass is held at Van Patten Woods, followed by the picnic and lots of games and activities.
· Wine Tasting is an evening to learn more about how to enjoy wine and what foods to drink it with.
· Spaghetti Supper Fundraiser combines dinner and entertainment with a silent auction.
· Holiday Craft Show draws hundreds to sell and buy hand-made goods.
· Greening of the Church invites parishioners to participate in decorating the church for Christmas and then share a light supper afterward.
· St. Nicholas Night offers the children of the parish a light supper and an evening of Advent activities centered on giving.
